Extraction Items Guide

Use Instructions, Extraction Candy, Jumper Cable and Valve on the machines where faster completion protects the team, and avoid wasting their triggers.

Extraction items convert inventory into machine progress. Current community indexes document timed speed effects such as Instructions and Extraction Speed Candy, immediate progress from Jumper Cable, and full completion from Valve. Their value depends on timing: use them where finishing now removes danger or starts Panic Mode, not on a harmless machine simply because a slot is full.

Evidence: the named items and effects are Community corroborated by current item indexes checked 2026-08-08. Exact percentages, duration, rarity, price, and machine-use restrictions need confirmation from the live item card.

Timed speed items

Instructions is currently described as a large temporary Extraction Speed increase usable while extracting. Activate after interacting with the machine and only when you expect to remain for the duration. If a Twisted is approaching, leave instead of wasting the item and taking a hit.

Extraction Speed Candy offers a shorter or smaller boost in current references. Use the lower-cost effect on ordinary safe stations and preserve Instructions for a machine whose exposure matters more.

Immediate progress

Jumper Cable adds a substantial block of completion while on a machine. This helps a threatened station cross the finish line before patrol reaches it. Check whether the remaining progress is smaller than the effect; another item may be sufficient.

Call the completion if Twisted Dandy is active or if Panic Mode will begin. Teammates need to know that enemy behavior and the elevator objective are changing.

Valve

Valve is currently documented as completing the active machine and sits at the ultra-rare end of item indexes. Save it for a last machine, a dangerous deep-floor room, a team collapse, or a station whose immediate completion opens the elevator route.

Do not carry it past the run-defining moment because you are waiting for a perfect floor. Rare items produce value when they preserve progress, not when they disappear with the defeated Toon.

Match the user to the machine

A fast extractor can turn a timed boost into more progress, while a slower Toon may get greater relative help. The practical choice is the Toon who can remain safe and land checks. Do not hand the item to a player trapped in a dead end merely because their stat is high.

If Twisted Astro is present, check consistency and exit quality. An aggressive boost does not compensate for a failed Skill Check that draws Astro and removes progress.

Inventory plan

Carry one extraction item and one escape/heal when the Toon has two slots. Two machine items are reasonable only with reliable team protection. Know which slot contains the emergency object so cycling during a chase does not select Instructions by mistake.

Before the last machines, announce the strongest item. This lets the team choose which station receives it and avoids two players spending rare progress on the same nearly finished machine.

Common mistakes

  • Activating a timed item before the machine interaction.
  • Using it while a patrol already approaches.
  • Spending Valve on an early safe station.
  • Over-completing a machine with more progress than needed.
  • Holding every rare item until defeat.
  • Carrying two extraction items on a Toon that cannot escape.

Extraction item FAQ

Which item is best for the last machine?

Valve is the strongest community-documented immediate completion, with Jumper Cable as a substantial progress option. Use the smallest item that safely finishes the job.

Can Instructions be used anywhere?

Current guides say it must be used while extracting a machine. Verify the prompt and do not activate when you must leave.

Do item effects stack with Trinkets?

Do not assume. Check the current game and compare the actual completion timing; stacking rules can change.

Should a distractor carry extraction items?

Usually prioritize escape, stamina, or healing. Carry extraction only when the role and team plan leave a real opportunity to use it.
