Dandy’s Elevator Shop turns Tapes collected during a run into temporary floor items. A good purchase answers the next floor’s risk: healing an injured Toon, giving a slow extractor an escape, or accelerating a machine when the team is stable. Buying because the shop appeared can waste Tapes and can also break an agreed Twisted Dandy Research route.
Enter with a priority
Before the doors open, ask: is anyone injured, who is struggling to escape, and are the last floors slow because of machines? That order keeps the team focused. Scan the entire stock before selecting an item.
Healing usually has priority when a key Toon is hurt and no ability can safely restore them. Escape items protect low-mobility or injured players. Extraction items matter when survival is stable and faster completion reduces exposure.
Tapes are run currency
Current community guides document Tape pickups, machines, floor survival, first encounters, abilities, and item use as sources. Exact values can change, but the planning rule is stable: spend for the current run rather than treating the balance like permanent Ichor.
Do not consume a Tape-funded Toon ability immediately before the shop without checking whether the purchase matters more. In a coordinated group, the user of that ability should announce the cost.
Inventory and ownership
Buy for the Toon who can use the item. An injured player should receive healing; the extractor assigned to the last machine should receive the progress item; the slow Toon crossing dangerous halls should receive escape. Do not hoard shop items because you paid the Tapes if another player carries them more effectively.
Check inventory space before buying. Dropping a useful item to take a smaller effect can reduce team value. Communicate a drop location when reorganizing.
Discounts
Community indexes describe Dandy Plush and Frugal Card as shop discounts, with a combined effect when both are equipped. Treat current percentages and additive behavior as live data. Compare the displayed price before and after equipping; never plan the Tape budget from an old screenshot.
A discount does not make an unnecessary item valuable. Buy only when the effect fits the floor plan.
Dandy runs and shop skips
A “Dandy run” deliberately avoids purchases across Dandy shop appearances to pursue Twisted Dandy. Ask for consent before the sequence starts and repeat the call at each shop. One accidental purchase may disrupt the community-described anger route.
Survival can override the plan. If the team needs healing, choose whether to buy and abandon the Research attempt. Do not sacrifice several players merely to preserve a chance-based spawn sequence.
Store in the lobby
Do not confuse the Elevator Shop with the lobby’s permanent Dandy’s Store. Lobby purchases use Ichor for Toon licenses, Trinkets, and other account items. The elevator shop uses Tapes during a run. Confirm the currency and permanence before spending.
Common shop mistakes
- Buying before scanning all choices.
- Spending the team’s only useful Tapes on a redundant effect.
- Forgetting inventory space.
- Hoarding a heal away from an injured teammate.
- Applying an old price despite live discounts or updates.
- Breaking a Dandy run without telling the lobby.
Shop FAQ
What currency does the elevator shop use?
Tapes, which are collected and spent during the run.
What should I buy first?
Healing for immediate injury, escape for a recurring survival problem, then extraction when the team is already stable.
Should I always skip Dandy’s Shop?
No. Skip only during a coordinated Twisted Dandy Research attempt. Ordinary runs should buy when an item meaningfully helps.
Are prices the same every update?
Do not assume so. Read the live shop and account for current discount Trinkets.
