Twisteds are corrupted Toon counterparts that patrol Dandy’s World floors, react to sight or noise, and punish teams that treat every enemy the same. The useful question is not merely “which Twisted spawned?” It is “what causes this one to change direction, what part of the floor does it threaten, and how does the team remove attention without dragging danger through machines?”
Five behavior questions to ask
First, determine whether the Twisted roams normally or has a special target. A standard patrol can often be managed by sight lines and distance. Twisted Astro, by contrast, reacts to failed Skill Checks and threatens machine progress. Twisted Dandy reacts to completed machines and has a special shop-skip route into the run.
Second, listen. Footsteps, growls, sweeping pauses, chase cues, and investigation sounds reveal more than a distant render. Sound lets the team avoid opening a door into danger and helps a distractor know whether an enemy truly followed around cover.
Third, identify attention length. Some Twisteds remain committed longer than others. Breaking line of sight is still the core escape operation, but the player must stay hidden until the enemy loses interest rather than immediately crossing the same opening.
Fourth, check whether noise rules have exceptions. A failed Skill Check usually attracts nearby roaming threats, yet certain Twisteds can respond from much farther away or attach an additional penalty. Never manufacture noise until the enemy set is known.
Fifth, ask what one hit means. A normal hit, a severe debuff, drained machine progress, and an instant elimination are different risks. This determines whether the team can recover or must route around the threat completely.
Currently documented threat guides
Twisted Tisha
A Common roamer whose sweeping idle creates long pauses. The pause is a routing clue, not permission to walk through her line of sight.
Twisted Dandy
A Lethal threat associated with repeatedly skipping Dandy's Shop. Completed machines can draw his attention, so a “Dandy run” needs consent and discipline.
Twisted Pebble
An extremely fast Main Twisted. Prevention, cover, sound tracking, and an early line-of-sight break matter more than an open-hall sprint.
Twisted Astro
A Main Twisted that punishes failed Skill Checks by attacking machine progress and applies stamina pressure during a chase.
Counter guide
A behavior-first playbook for patrols, line-of-sight breaks, Skill Check noise, lethal threats, distractor handoffs, and recovery.
This is a focused threat set, not a complete claim about every current Twisted. Use the lobby’s Twisteds menu and Research descriptions for the enemy that actually appeared. At higher Research thresholds, the game reveals more information; the live menu is the best owner for your current account.
Patrol, detection, and attention
Detection begins with what a Twisted can see and hear, while attention describes how long it continues after losing sight. Stealth can affect which nearby Toon becomes the preferred target, but geometry decides whether the chase can be broken. Corners, shelves, walls, and doors are tools only when they fully remove vision.
Do not weave a chase through active machines. The extractor is stationary, focused on Skill Checks, and may have low movement. A designated distractor should choose a loop away from work and announce when that loop must move. Other players should avoid crossing it unless they are intentionally helping.
After breaking sight, wait. An immediate return through the same gap can restart the chase before the attention timer ends. Listen for the lost-interest cue or footsteps moving away, then choose a new route rather than assuming the old one is clear.
Skill Check noise
A failed Skill Check is more than lost efficiency. Nearby Twisteds may investigate the machine, and special enemies can make the penalty much larger. When Astro is present, a failure can cost machine progress. The team’s best response is to call the failure, leave the station if the route is threatened, and avoid clustering around the noise.
Players who struggle with checks should use a more forgiving machine or Trinket setup and practice on early floors. The answer is not to keep failing a high-risk last machine while teammates guess why pressure keeps returning.
Noise-generating abilities and items should receive the same care. Pebble’s Speak! and an Air Horn can be useful when a distractor plans the destination. Used without a call, they can reroute the floor into chaos.
Research without reckless chases
Research capsules and first encounters advance the Twisted entry. The goal is to register the encounter and collect the matching capsules, not remain visible for as long as possible. Use Rodger when Research is the account bottleneck, but plan an escape before approaching the target.
Community references report that capsules are client-side, so one teammate collecting a capsule does not take yours. Share the target location instead of racing. When the threat is too dangerous, finish the floor and wait for a safer spawn rather than trading the run for a small percentage.
Team callouts that work
Use short, actionable calls: “Pebble near elevator,” “Astro on last machine,” “Dandy run yes/no,” “Tisha sweeping by left hall,” or “chase moving away from machines.” A name without location is incomplete; a location without direction can be stale by the time someone reads it.
At Panic Mode, call the dangerous lane and the elevator approach. The team no longer needs to protect machine work, so the priority shifts to gathering survivors without crossing the distractor’s route.
Twisted index FAQ
What attracts Twisteds?
Direct vision, noise, failed Skill Checks, and special mechanics can all matter. Read the specific enemy guide because exceptions are common.
How do I lose a chase?
Create distance, turn around solid cover, remain out of sight long enough for attention to end, and leave by a route the Twisted is not already checking.
Should I chase a Twisted for Research?
No. Arrange one controlled encounter and escape. Research progress does not justify dragging a threat across machines.
Are the exact speed values current?
They are community-documented, update-sensitive values. This index focuses on relative threat and player operation; verify numbers in current sources or the live game.
