Extraction Trinket Builds

Build for first-machine tempo, sustained extraction or Skill Checks, then add the movement and survival needed to finish machines on real floors.

An extraction build should reduce the time your team spends exposed at machines without creating a Toon that cannot leave them. Separate three effects: opening progress, steady Extraction Speed, and Skill Check value. Then decide whether the second slot should add more work or protect the exit.

Evidence: Wrench, Machine Manual, Vee's Remote, Magnifying Glass, and Blue Bandana roles are Community corroborated in current guides checked 2026-08-08. Exact percentages, penalties, and stacking behavior must be confirmed in the live loadout.

First-machine tempo

Wrench and Vee’s Remote are commonly used to accelerate the first machine touched on a floor. This effect is easy to realize and especially useful on short early floors, when several players spread out, or when the team wants to reach Panic Mode before pressure accumulates.

Do not waste the trigger on an unsafe station you immediately abandon. Choose a machine with cover, begin deliberately, and communicate if several opening effects should be spread across different machines rather than stacked.

Sustained extraction

Machine Manual and other Extraction Speed options help for every second of active work. They suit Toons who can reach machines safely and remain on them. A percentage on paper is not realized during a chase, so machine selection and distraction still determine value.

Vee naturally benefits from strong steady extraction; Rodger can combine work with Research; Tisha may use sustained speed to cover a weaker base value. Compare the live stat panel rather than assuming the same Trinket adds equal practical time to every Toon.

Skill Check builds

Magnifying Glass and other check-oriented options reward Toons with frequent or strong Skill Checks and players who land them. A build can increase check value while narrowing the window or changing chance, so read both benefit and drawback.

Shelly and Tisha have community-documented Skill Check strengths. Rodger is steadier in extraction than movement. Practice on safe floors before relying on a high-risk check build around Twisted Astro, where one failure can cost machine progress.

The defensive second slot

Add Speedy Shoes, stamina, or another survival tool when the extractor repeatedly gets caught leaving machines. This often creates more completed work than a second extraction bonus. The right metric is machines finished per run, not the peak number during a perfect uninterrupted test.

On deep or special floors, name the enemy or hazard that ends work. Debuff protection can outperform generic movement when one effect repeatedly traps the Toon. In coordinated squads with a reliable distractor, the defensive slot can return to extraction.

Machine operation

Before interacting, identify two exits. Stop work when a patrol enters the route. Call failed Skill Checks and leave immediately when Astro is present. Save an Instructions or other extraction item for a station whose fast completion changes the floor, not the first harmless opportunity.

During Panic Mode, extraction Trinkets no longer matter. Preserve enough stamina and route knowledge to reach the elevator; the build succeeds only if the Toon survives with the team.

Test plan

Run the same Toon with a baseline pair, then change one slot. Record first-machine completion, total machine share, checks landed, times forced off, and whether the Toon reached the elevator. Three comparable sessions reveal more than one showcase.

Reject a build if its effect rarely triggers or if the added machine speed creates risk-taking that costs Hearts. Keep the pair that makes the role repeatable.

Extraction build FAQ

Wrench or sustained Extraction Speed?

Use Wrench for reliable opening tempo and sustained speed for long machine time. Floor depth, Toon stats, and team copies determine which produces more value.

Should I use two extraction Trinkets?

Only when routes are already safe. If escape is the failure, reserve one slot for movement or stamina.

Do Skill Check Trinkets work for everyone?

They are strongest when the Toon and player reliably produce and land checks. Read any window-size or chance tradeoff.

What should I use against Twisted Astro?

Favor check consistency and safe machine selection. A failed check can erase progress, so maximum speed with unstable timing is a poor trade.
